Promozione diretta già assegnata in Championship, oltre al Leicester arriva nella categoria superiore il Burnley che rappresenta una sorpresa di stagione: l’anno scorso si è salvato all’ultima giornata e dopo aver ceduto Jay Rodriguez ai Saints (12 milioni di euro), ad inizio campionato ha ceduto dopo due turni il bomber Austin (24 reti) al Qpr, puntando in pratica sulla coppia di bomber Ings-Vokes, l’anno scorso spesso in panchina. I due hanno ripagato la fiducia del tecnico, segnando più di una quarantina di gol e promuovendo una società che ad inizio stagione era quotata 14 a 1 per l’approdo in Premier League, un risultato straordinario per una città di soli 90.000 persone. Rimane la grandissima battaglia per l’ultimo posto nei play off che vede coinvolti Reading, Brighton, Forest (foto di apertura), Ipswich, Rovers e Bournemouth.
