A derby without any emotions

March 9, 2014 at the Renato Dall’Ara stadium of the city of Bologna, an original derby came to scene during the season of Serie A. An indecise Bologna faced to a determined Sassuolo. Both teams were at the bottom of points table and the three points could change definitely the classification of one of these two teams.

A brief summary of the match

The Red-blue coach Ballardini had to give four players up: Cristaldo and Morleo were banned, Kone and Garics  hurt themselves. Following to these lacks, he fielded, typically, the Red-blue defensive formation  as he didn’t  want to risk. On the other hand, the new reinstated Di Francesco, who was the Black-green coach, he fielded a typically and offensive formation. During the really boring match in the first time Sansone hit the crossbar and it was the unique event which doomed 0-0.

The striker, who played in the juvenile Bayern München, stroke the crossbar by a kick from about 30 metres just few minutes in the 45th minute. It was in the first time where the keepers really spectated “ no paying”. The Black-green keeper Pegolo saw the ball kicked towards the goal only at the beginning of the game thanks to the own Greek Christodoulopoulos ‘ action by a shot without any expectations.

Reached the field there were just two chances. Just one shot by Christodoulopoulos  saved  without problems and a bad mistake  of Sansone who, after dribbling the whole Red-blue defence, slipped in the front of Curci when he kicked. The last minutes were charaterised by several scrimmages in the Sassuolo box which didn’t meet the target.  Actually, It was a game without any expectatios. The score 0-0 blocked the bad and consecutive matches of 7 k.o. Sassuolo, unfortunately, took the lead of the Black-green in the straight fight.

A brief commentary of  the Bologna game

It was a bad game, few actions, no dangerous shot against the opponent keeper. The team didn’t shot  by 430 minutes.
