Radio Casteldebole weekly: Svanberg out, it’s Skov Olsen’s time
It looks like in Casteldebole there is some sort of a curse that weekly hits Bologna’s football players. Actually, since the beginning of the season, Bologna F.C. has had to face a high number of injuries. Not only during the season: in the middle of the preseason, beside the terrible announcement about Siniša’s condition, important players like Schouten and Dzemaili were injured throughout this whole period, which is very important for a player if he wants to be ready for the beginning of the championship.
From this point of view, Bologna’s season has been terribly unfortunate. So far, almost every player has been severely injured except Orsolini, Palacio, Poli, Mbaye, Bani, Skov Olsen and Skorupski (Dominguez and Barrow have just arrived). For the match against Udinese, which will take place this Saturday 22th February, Siniša Mihajlović will only have 11 players of the main squad available. Won’t take part at the game: Dijks, Krejčí, Medel, Soriano, Svanberg, Sansone, Santander, Schouten and Denswil (this last two are disqualified after the red cards against Genoa last week). Siniša will have to take with him some players from the “Primavera” (youth academy) like Leonardo Mazza (19), Andri Fannar Baldursson (18), Gianmarco Cangiano (18), Leonardo Stanzani (19) and Musa Juwara (18) to support the team and be ready to play during the game. It won’t be an easy game at all: Udinese is a very physical team and the lack of players in the midfield can make all the difference for the outcome of the match.
The starting eleven are (almost) sure: Skorupski; Tomiyasu, Danilo, Bani, Mbaye; Poli, Dominguez; Orsolini, Skov Olsen, Barrow; Palacio.
